Dr. Samuel Aduse Poku is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Plant and Environmental Biology, University of Ghana. He had his undergraduate education in Agricultural technology at the University for Development Studies (UDS). Dr. Aduse Poku obtained his MSc. degree (Agricultural Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology option) from Ondokuz Mayis University (OMU), Turkey in 2016, and a Ph.D. (Environmental Horticulture) from Chiba University, Japan in 2021. He has research expertise in plant stress physiology, plant tissue culture, and molecular plant breeding.

Presently, Dr. Aduse Poku's research interests include the application of tissue culture techniques for the propagation and conservation of rare and endemic medicinal and threatened tree species. Additionally, he is also interested in exploring the potential of underutilized Ghanaian crop species, often referred to as neglected or orphan crops, to enhance their utilization and contribution to sustainable agricultural practices.
