Mijoro Rakotoarinivo

Mijoro Rakotoarinivo is a botanist, lecturer and the current head of the Department of Plant Biology and Ecology at the Faculty of Science, University of Antananarivo. His research focuses mainly on the palms of Madagascar, in particular their taxonomy, biogeography, utilization forms and conservation.  Since 2020, Mijoro has been the chair of the SSC IUCN Madagascar Plant Specialist Group, whose responsibilities involve assessing the risk of extinction of Madagascar's flora and recommending appropriate conservation measures for sustainable development.
