Professor A. Muthama Muasya is a plant taxonomist and evolutionary biologist based in South Africa. He is the Keeper of the Bolus Herbarium, at the University of Cape Town. His research includes the systematics of the plant family Cyperaceae, and the evolution of the Cape and African Flora. He is the Vice President of the Southern African Association for Systematic Biology, a member of the Academy of Science of South Africa and served on the Council of the International Association for Plant Taxonomy (2017-2023).
